being thankful

I have wonderful kids. They are creative and wildly imaginative and full of life. Today Em announced that she is a photographer. I think she's right.

In honor of Thanksgiving, we have some of her best (in mommy's opinion) shots of the day...

It was an amazingly warm and beautiful November day,
hence we have pink flip-flop shots.

Sill life on the front porch.

This is a pilgrim's house - note the lovely blueberry bushes.

Dancing turkey feet on the TV. Please don't ask.
I was desperate to get the pies baked
and it worked to calm the savage beasts.

Pie. And pie filling on the counter. It was everywhere.
I wanted to let the girls help me but they were fighting.
It must have been in the air today 'cause mid-pie-baking
I got a phone call from another mummy
who was being glared at by small children.
Ahhh, the joys of the holidays!

I took this one...
it seems there was harmony
if one was willing to sprawl on the kitchen floor
(clearly underfoot) in a warm shaft of light.

There was crafting today but I'll post pictures next time.
I'm off to sleep
so I can get up and cook a bird for people who like to eat them.
Poor birdy.
But there will be yummy roasted portabellas for us girls...
